Beigang Head of Waterways Culture Park
The Beigang Water Cultural Park was waterworks originally built in 1930 during the Japanese occupation.It had the most advanced waterworks design at that time, supplied drinking water to the residents of Beigang for more than 60 years, and ceased its operation in 1997. After that, the government of Yunlin County restored its facilities, buildings and surrounding environmental, re-designed it as a cultural park and named after its common name “Shuidaotou”. The cross shaped water tower, formerly known as the old water tower of Beigang, has a small and lovely appearance. It was once an important water source for the whole town, and it is also the only survived representative building of the Japanese occupation period in Beigang. Inside the park, there are century-old trees, Japanese architecture and lotus ponds for visitors to enjoy and relieve pressure from their mind.
